What goes wrong here
Logistics sites are hard to watch because normal activity never really stops.
- There is no quiet period
- A depot with night trunking has legitimate movement at three in the morning. A pure motion alarm on that site is worthless; the question is always whether this particular movement belongs.
- The perimeter is long
- Yards, fence lines, gates and a service road. Covering it properly means deciding which crossings actually matter rather than trying to watch everything equally.
- Loading bays are the weak point
- Doors open, vehicles reversing, drivers who are not your staff, and a short window where the stock is neither in the building nor on the vehicle.
- Fuel and vehicles are targets in their own right
- Separate from the stock, and usually parked in the least overlooked corner of the site.
- Fire risk is concentrated
- Racking, packaging and plant in one volume. Fire detection here is not a formality, and the arrangements behind it matter as much as the panel.
What we watch
How the watch is set up on a site like this.
- Detection set against your actual pattern
- We build the site profile around what normal looks like on your site โ shift times, trunking, contractors who work late โ so the exceptions are genuinely exceptions.
- Fire and intruder monitoring
- Permanent systems monitored with callout initiated on activation. Through a partnership with an SSAIB registered installer we can arrange monitoring for just about any signal format.
- Keyholding and alarm response
- Our own teams across Lincolnshire, North Lincolnshire, London and Wales, and a multinational partner where our own response would not meet the service level agreed. We will tell you which one covers your site before you sign anything.
- Process conditions where they apply
- Chilled bays, server and comms rooms, and anywhere a condition failure would cost more than a break-in.
The same for every site we watch
What happens when it goes off
-
01
Signal arrives
An activation, a detection or a condition threshold reaches the control centre.
-
02
An operator assesses it
Before anyone is called. Every activation is assessed; a passing animal and a person crossing a line do not get the same response.
-
03
The ladder starts
Named contacts in the order agreed with you, with the times each is available.
-
04
Someone attends, or does not
A keyholder, our own response, a guarding partner, or a direct call to the emergency services โ whichever your arrangements say, at the time we are working to.
-
05
It is logged and reviewed
Arrangements are checked periodically and after any incident.
Nothing is connected until the arrangements are written down and agreed, and nothing goes live untested. The full sequence is set out in our operational arrangements.
What shapes the cost
The length of perimeter being watched, how many cameras carry detection, whether fire and intruder signals come to us as well, and where the site sits relative to our own response teams.
We would rather tell you what drives the number than make you ask. What it costs sets out how a price is put together on any site.
